Week 4 - Thursday

Ok, I'm now ready to go. I'm traveling on Greyhound from here to San Bernardino, and I will actually be training with US Truck Driving School, rather than a SNI school. But that's OK. They all teach the same stuff. I just have to start packing. The packet that SNI mailed back on the 17th never did get here.

Week 4 - Monday

Went down to the DMV this morning and passed my CDL written tests. I missed two on the General Knowledge section, missed one on the Air Brakes, aced the Combination stuff and missed three on the HazMat. Cool. I came home and faxed a copy of my permit off to SNI in Green Bay. I then called Dawn and she looked everything over and then told me that it looked good. I am so excited! She gave me the information for training, but said to call back on Thursday afternoon or Friday to get the travel information.

Week 3 - Thursday

Today is the day for my DOT Physical and drug test. Now that I have my physical out of the way, I can take my CDL permit tests. Maybe Monday. Have a good weekend.

Week 3 - Wednesday

Called my recruiter today and he e-mailed me the information. I printed it out, signed where I needed to, and sent it off overnight mail to them. Now for the next phase of the waiting game.

Week 3 - Tuesday

Still waiting for my "Rated Applicant Packet" in the mail. Talked to my recruiter today and he said that if it is delayed too much, they might push me back a week; so I wouldn't start until the 10th. It had better be here tomorrow, or I'm going to go crazy waiting.

Week 2 - Friday

Called my SNI processor today. She went over my application info once again and is going to start on my driver history, criminal history and employment history. She also has sent me the paperwork and booklets to get started. I'm waiting for the mail now.

Everything has to be signed and on her desk on the 23rd. I'm supposed to call her back then and she will schedule me for the DOT Physical and drug screen. I'm getting nervous about everything working out good. It's getting closer to reality for me now!!!

Week 2 - Thursday

Well, I've completed my interview with the Schneider recruiter. As of now I am tentatively a Pumpkin Head. I've been enrolled in the Feb 3 training class, pending approval of my paperwork and background information. I hope they have more luck with my employer information than CRE apparently is having. I'm supposed to call in tomorrow to find our more. I've written CRE off. If they ever call back, they can pound sand.

Week 2 - Wednesday

Received a call from Schneider recruiting department. They went over my application with me and set me up for a Telephone Interview tomorrow afternoon. Hope all goes well! Still no word back from CRE.

Week 2 - Tuesday

Applied with Schneider National today. Hope to hear something back from them. Still have not heard back from C.R. England.

Week 2 - Monday

Received a e-mail from the CRE recruiter today. I called and was told that they were having trouble verifying my employment information because no one would respond to their requests for info. I verified the employer information they had and she said they would keep trying.

Week 1 - Monday

Received a e-mail from CRE today and called the recruiter who had been assigned to me. She is going to start on my application and let me know how it goes.

I sent an e-mail to Willis Shaw Express, asking for more info on their training program. I also applied online with CRST. Don't know if I'll hear anything from them though. I'll let you know if I do.
